There is a magical atmosphere every time I open a door from a narrow street in Venice and a completely new world shows up in front of my eyes.

Inside Venetians’ houses is a ten years project I carried on to fulfill my curiosity to discover what exists beyond the rough walls of the ancient houses of Venice.

I have listened to many legends and shared many secrets.

This particular picture was taken in a very dark corridor, where it was really hard to see something. I could only imagine the composition and that the painting could hide something interesting.

I had no tripod with me and thank to the optical stabilization of my Leica Q2 I could shoot at 1s f/1,7 iso 1600.
