THE GILDING OF THE GONDOLA REQUIRES A SPECIAL TECHNIQUE, CONSIDERING THE WATER AND THE SALTNESS IN THE LAGOON.

The “Indoradòri” (the gilders) are the craftsmen who apply the gold leaves made by the “Battiloro” in various parts of the gondola. According to the level of the furniture of the gondola, their skills can be useful in the decoration of the boat, after the “intagiadòri” (engravers) carved some fixed parts such as the bow, or some removable parts that can be gilded in the workshop.
